When was IGSS established?
IGSS emerged in its current form on December 30th 2011. It is the result of the integration between IG Seismic Services and Integra Group with the seismic business of Geotech Oilfield Services Holding. IGSS also draws upon the experience of Schlumberger, its minority shareholder, whose former Russian subsidiaries now also form part of IGSS' group.
The combination created Russia’s largest geophysical and seismic company – and one of the biggest in the world.
IGSS can call on over 70 years of experience. The oldest companies within the group have been leading the field services sector since 1941.

Seismic data acquisition is a method of exploration geophysics which uses the principles of seismology to estimate the principles of the Earth’s subsurface from reflected seismic waves. The oil and gas industry uses seismic survey surfaces to map and interpret potential and confirmed oil and gas reservoirs.

Once acquired, the seismic data is manipulated into a dataset. This can be used to infer the subsurface structure and produce visual outputs. Once the data has been processed by geophysicists and engineers, it is subject to interpretation by experienced professional who use it to draw conclusions about the geology of the surveyed area.
